“All of You” is a song written by Jane McNealy in 1979, during a time when her songwriting was really growing. By then, she had over ten years of experience creating jazz, R&B, and pop music. Her work in musical theater with Alice Kuhns helped her add deeper meanings to her songs, making them more special.

The song came from a project with famous jazz musician Harold Battiste, Jr. They worked together to create music for a client who wasn’t a professional singer. McNealy remembers the recording sessions as lively and filled with different pop styles, all designed to fit the needs of their client. This teamwork made “All of You” unique and fun.

Battiste played an important role in shaping the song. He added his saxophone as the main melody, giving the track a special sound. McNealy recalls how Battiste often joked about being a frustrated singer, which led him to bring his own creativity to the project. Now released by Lo-Flo Records, “All of You” is a beautiful example of collaboration and musical talent that continues to connect with listeners today.
