Andrew Thoreen Explores Faith and Purpose in New Single “A Mirror Dimly”

Independent artist and Christian songwriter Andrew Thoreen has unveiled his latest single, “A Mirror Dimly,” a profound exploration of faith, existence, and self-understanding. This release marks a significant evolution in Thoreen’s career as he blends his artistic expression with his journey into Christian apologetics, offering a thoughtful perspective on the logical foundations of belief.

Drawing inspiration from his conversion to Christianity in 2020 and years of skepticism, “A Mirror Dimly” revisits doubts and the search for purpose. Originally written during the isolation of the COVID-19 lockdowns, the song has matured into a reflection on universal themes, including the cosmological argument for God’s existence, the limits of human understanding, and the search for truth beyond self-perception.

Grounded in 1 Corinthians 13:12, Thoreen connects personal experiences with theological insights, stating, “This song was born from the idea of expressing why I believe and trust in God.” Mixed by Brett Bullion and mastered by Huntley Miller, the track stands as an engaging entry point for listeners navigating questions of faith.

Known for his work with the art-pop project Har-di-Har and collaborations with J.E. Sunde, Thoreen now focuses on creating Christian art songs through his project Alaylon, alongside his wife, Julie. Together, they craft music that sets biblical texts to melody, combining creativity with spiritual depth.

With “A Mirror Dimly,” Andrew Thoreen embarks on a bold new chapter, inviting listeners to ponder life’s deeper questions while celebrating the clarity found in faith.
