Maxton Hunter Unveils Debut Sitar Singles ‘Dhara/Jaya’

37

Maxton Hunter is a true innovator in the music scene, using the studio as his primary instrument rather than sticking to traditional sounds. Growing up on a ranch north of Goleta, California, he cultivated his imagination from an early age, diving into music by just nine years old. His eclectic discography showcases a rich tapestry of genres, including psychedelic pop, folk-rock, and ambient soundscapes. Over the years, Hunter has collaborated with a variety of talented artists like Evan Blix, East Valley Road, and Ryan Pollie’s Academy of Light, contributing his unique touch to numerous recordings alongside musicians such as Al Bert and Brandi Rose.

After developing a deep fascination with Eastern music, Hunter is set to release his debut sitar singles “Dhara/Jaya.” His studies under sitar maestro Rajib Karmakar have profoundly influenced his artistic direction, propelling him to explore more spiritual and introspective themes in his music. The recording process for this project was nothing short of collaborative magic. Teaming up with experimental producer Ryan Pollie, analog cinematographer Roberto Johnson, and engineer Noah Bruskin from Alan Parsons’ ParSonics Studio, Hunter has crafted an inviting and kaleidoscopic two-part medley that promises to transport listeners to new auditory realms.

As he unveils “Dhara/Jaya,” fans can expect a fresh perspective on sound that blends tradition with innovation, reflecting Hunter’s journey as an artist deeply connected to both his roots and the broader musical landscape.
